Jayme Escobedo

Jayme Escobedo, 60, was born and raised in Southern California.

Landing the role of Jose Aguilar in The Bad News Bears was my lucky break. My brother originally auditioned for the role, however, he was too young and the casting director then asked me to read for the part. I was ten years old at the time, didn’t have any acting experience, and had never even played baseball!

After The Bad News Bears and the sequel Breaking Training I did some commercials and theater. I realized my real passion is law enforcement so I obtained a degree in criminal justice and attended Rio Hondo Police Academy. I have spent the past 34 years working as a Deputy Sheriff Reserve for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and as a Corporate Loss Prevention Director for various retail organizations.

I have been married for 33 years and have five children and six grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and going to Dodger games.
