Cameron Crowe

Cameron Crowe is an award-winning writer-director, author and journalist.  He began his career as a teenage contributing-editor at Rolling Stone, where his immersive reporting on rock bands informed the semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous, for which he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Crowe also wrote the book and screenplay for Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and went on to write and direct a series of influential films including Say Anything…, Singles, Jerry Maguire, and Vanilla Sky, often exploring themes of ambition, romance, and personal awakening along with a keen ear for music. He is also a Tony-nominated playwright and composer for his work on Almost Famous: The Musical. Crowe’s personal memoir, The Uncool, was a New York Times best-seller in 2025.  His next film is based on the life and music of Joni Mitchell.
