ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN (1976)

WORLD PREMIERE RESTORATION | 50TH ANNIVERSARY PRESENTATION

Robert Redford was obsessed with the Watergate investigation the moment he read Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein’s first articles implying that members of the Nixon administration had broken into the Democratic National Committee’s Washington headquarters. Redford and director Alan J. Pakula worked hard to make the movie as accurate as possible, having an exact duplicate of the Washington Post’s offices built. They even went so far as to have trash from the Post’s newsroom flown in to dress the set. With taut suspense and a cast headed by Redford, Dustin Hoffman and Jason Robards, the film was one of the year’s biggest hits. It still packs a punch 50 years later in this U.S. premiere restoration.
