Samuel L. Jackson

With iconic screen performances in over 150 films, Samuel L. Jackson is one of the most respected and beloved global performers. He has received Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Tony nominations, a Best Supporting Actor award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and cumulatively his films have grossed more at the global box office than any other actor. Jackson’s portrayal of Jules, the philosopher hitman, in Quentin Tarantino’s PULP FICTION (1994) made an indelible mark on American cinema. Among his many acclaimed performances, Jackson made movie history with his portrayal of a crack addict in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever (1991) when he was awarded the fourth and final Best Supporting Performance Award ever given by the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

Jackson is currently in production on the upcoming Peacock true crime limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist alongside an all-star ensemble cast including Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, and Don Cheadle. The series is based on the podcast Fight Night, which tells the infamous story of how an armed robbery during the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life, but an entire city’s destiny. Jackson stars as notorious gangster Frank Moten, famously referred to by tabloids as “the Black Godfather.”

In 2022, Jackson returned to Broadway in the revival of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Piano Lesson, directed by his wife LaTanya Richardson Jackson. His performance as Doaker Charles earned him his first Tony nomination and the revival became both the highest-grossing Broadway revival of the season and Wilson’s highest-grossing Broadway run of all time. Jackson will reprise the role in Netflix’s upcoming feature film adaptation, directed by Malcolm Washington, who co-wrote the film with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Virgil Williams. The Piano Lesson marked Jackson’s first return to the stage since his 2011 Broadway debut in the Kenny Leon-directed play The Mountaintop.

Jackson holds the record for appearing in the most Marvel Cinematic Universe films, twelve, with his latest appearance as Nick Fury in The Marvels (2023). Other films include Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Captain Marvel (2019), and “Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). In addition, he has appeared in two MCU series including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Disney+ original series Secret Invasion.
