Michael Tomasky

Michael Tomasky is the editor of The New Republic and of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, a quarterly policy journal. He has been editor of The American Prospect and was the first American editor of The Guardian when it expanded its operations to the US. He is the author of six books–most recently, The Middle Out: The Return of Progressive Economics and the Rise of Shared Prosperity, and most entertainingly, the 2014 e-book Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!: The Beatles and America, Then and Now. He grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia and lives in Maryland outside Washington, D.C. with his wife and daughter.
