Lois Burwell
Lois Burwell was born and raised in North London, where she began her film career. Her love for make-up began early in childhood when she would put on shows with her classmates and design the characters’ looks.
As a college student, Lois began to work on music videos and student films. Her first big break came when she was asked to run the make-up department for Bill Forsythe’s Gregory’s Girl. Her notable film work includes Lincoln, Saving Private Ryan, The Princess Bride, Legend, Catch Me if You Can, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Fifth Element, Highlander, Mona Lisa, Mission: Impossible, The Last Samurai and Green Mile. In 1996, she won an Academy Award for her work on Braveheart. Lois now lives in California with her husband, five hens, two horses, one dog, and a goldfish named Nancy and has been working as a makeup artist designer (heading makeup departments) for over thirty years.
