Jeffrey Bickel

Jeffrey Bickel is the Senior Newsreel Preservationist at the UCLA Film & Television Archive. He graduated from UCLA in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Film/Television Production. Since 1995, he has supervised the preservation and restoration of over one million feet of newsreels from the Hearst Metrotone News Collection along with documentaries and other newsfilm shorts. For the past eight years, he has been working in partnership with the Packard Humanities Institute on a project to digitize and make publicly accessible the Hearst Metrotone News Collection.
