Darcy Hettrich
Darcy Hettrich served as VP of Talent for Turner Classic Movies for over 23 years, helping to launch the TCM Network, as well as the TCM Classic Film Festival and TCM Classic Cruises. She was part of TCM’s leadership team and created its Talent Department, which identified, booked and pre-produced talent for a myriad of projects (among them, Robert Osborne’s Private Screenings and Guest Programmer). During her tenure, Darcy initially concentrated on classic film talent, then widened the talent field to represent a cross section of leaders in other professions who also loved classic movies. During her first eight years, she also worked across Turner networks booking talent for various projects at TNT (SAG Awards Red Carpet, All-Star Musical Tributes: John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell), TBS (The Comedy Festivals), HBO/TBS (Comic Relief: Hurricane Katrina – New Orleans live inserts), Cartoon Network (Fridays, Johnny Bravo) and Turner Sports (Listen Up! with Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson). Previously, Darcy was a Segment Producer at NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She was an original staff member and helped to launch NBC’s Late Night with David Letterman, first as Assistant to the Associate Producer, then as Talent Researcher. Darcy remains an ardent fan of classic films and, in particular, TCM, and is passionate about its importance to the film community.
