Tess Harper is an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actress. She is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University where her classmates included John Goodman and Kathleen Turner. While doing theatre work, Harper landed a role opposite Robert Duvall in Bruce Beresford’s 1983 drama Tender Mercies, immediately earning herself a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Three years later, Harper reunited with director Bruce Beresford for Crimes of the Heart, where Harper’s performance garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Harper has continued to work steadily in both television and film, appearing on such shows as Christy, Grey’s Anatomy, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds and How to Get Away with Murder; and films The Jackal (1997), Frank (2014), Sunlight Jr. (2013), and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019). Harper has curated a wide body of work and is well known for her roles such as Mrs. Pinkman in the critically acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, and the Coen brothers’ hit film crime drama, No Country for Old Men (2007).
