Penny Peyser
Penny Peyser is an actress, documentary filmmaker, and writer whose first book, Sonnets from Suburbia: More Candles than Cake, debuted this February on Amazon. (On the back cover you can read a testimonial from Alan Arkin, germane to The In-Laws screening!)
Her favorite credit from her days in NY is The Hot l Baltimore at Circle in the Square. She has appeared in over 45 television series and miniseries, including Rich Man, Poor Man – Book II; The Tony Randall Show; Crazy Like a Fox; Knots Landing; Pandora’s Clock; The Blue and the Gray; and Shameless. She made her big-screen debut in All the President’s Men (1976), followed by The In-Laws, The Frisco Kid (both 1979), and Messenger of Death (1988), to name a few.
In 2008, Ms. Peyser and her husband, Doug McIntyre, produced, wrote, and directed the award-winning documentary Trying to Get Good: The Jazz Odyssey of Jack Sheldon, featuring Billy Crystal, Clint Eastwood, Alan Bergman, and a raft of jazz masters. She followed that with Stillpoint (2015), an examination of a Zen meditation center in northern California.
She will be appearing at the L.A. Fringe Festival this June in her solo show, Sonnets from Suburbia.
