Lawrence A. Mirisch
Lawrence A. Mirisch, president of The Mirisch Agency, has had a diverse 40-year entertainment industry career as an agent, executive, and hands-on filmmaker.
In early 1992, he formed The Mirisch Agency, a boutique firm specializing in the representation of creative talent involved in the production of motion pictures and television. During the previous 10 years, he represented a distinctive group of clients, first with the Gersh Agency, then with Adams, Ray and Rosenberg and its successor, Triad Artists.
Today, The Mirisch Agency’s client roster is comprised of highly regarded entertainment industry professionals including producers, directors, cinematographers, film editors, production designers, and costume designers, many of whom have been nominated or won Academy Awards.
“The challenge of starting a new agency and building it into a thriving enterprise in the highly competitive Hollywood environment was something I couldn’t resist,” says Mirisch. “I’m gratified that the agency has experienced significant growth in both numbers of clients and areas of representation. Since its inception in 1992, our business has been built on a foundation of personal service. Our primary goal is to provide clients with opportunities to enhance their professional lives while realizing their artistic potential. And seeing this happen is extremely rewarding.”
In the area of industry affairs, Mirisch has been active with the Motion Picture and Television Fund; is a member of the Directors Guild of America, where he served on the special projects committee for 18 years; and is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He was chairman of the subcommittee on Agents and chairman of the membership screening committee. He is also on the board of governors of Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
