Lawrence Kasdan

Lawrence Kasdan has directed, written, or produced 24 motion pictures, including Body Heat (1981), The Big Chill (1983), Silverado (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), and Grand Canyon (1991). He has written or cowritten five of the most successful films in motion picture history: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Bodyguard (1992), and Star War: The Force Awakens (2015). Nominated for four Academy Awards and six Writers Guild Awards, Kasdan was honored by the Writers Guild of America with its Laurel Award for advancing the literature of motion pictures. His six-part documentary series Light & Magic currently appears on Disney+.
