Khandi Alexander
Khandi Alexander is a critically acclaimed award nominated film and television actress. Alexander received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Maya Lewis in the ABC hit drama Scandal and a Critics Choice Television Award nomination for her work in the HBO film Bessie (2015). Additional recent credits include FX’s What We Do in the Shadows; HBO’s Fahrenheit 451 (2018); Pete Berg’s Patriot’s Day (2016); A Woman, a Part (2016); CBS’s SEAL Team; and the HBO drama Treme. Alexander is well known for playing Dr. Alexx Woods in the long-running CBS series, CSI: Miami. In the early days of her acting career, she starred in a number of film and television projects including CB4, What’s Love Got to Do with It, Sugar Hill (all 1993), There’s Something About Mary (1998), NewsRadio (NBC), E.R. (NBC), and HBO’s miniseries The Corner, for which she received critical acclaim. Alexander began her career as a dancer on Broadway also working as a choreographer for several of Whitney Houston’s world tours.
