Born and raised in Niagara Falls N.Y., Mark Bridges has a B.A. in Theater from SUNY Stony Brook. He moved to New York City and received an M.F.A. in Costume Design from New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He then worked regularly as an assistant costume designer to Oscar nominated-costume designer Richard Hornung on such diverse projects as The Grifters (1990), Barton Fink (1991), Dave (1993), Natural Born Killers (1994), and Nixon (1995). As a Costume Designer Mark has designed all of Paul Thomas Anderson’s films; Hard Eight (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), There Will Be Blood (2007), The Master (2012) and earned an Oscar nomination for their collaboration on Inherent Vice (2014). In 2012, Mark won an Oscar and the Bafta award for Best Costume Design for The Artist (2011). Mark’s other film projects include Blow (2001), 8 Mile (2002), The Italian Job (2003), I Heart Huckabees (2004), Yes Man (2008), Greenberg (2010), The Fighter (2010) and Silver Linings Playbook (2012), Captain Phillips (2013), Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) and Jason Bourne (2016). Bridges most recently won his second BAFTA and second Academy Award for his costume design work in the film Phantom Thread (2017).
